Senior executives from a large national financial company were experiencing inter-departmental challenges, some ‘difficult’ employees, and wanted to improve their employee and customer satisfaction.
Through experiential activities, each participant was able to discover their personal conflict style and whether or not it was effective in different situations, practice strategies for shifting their perspective about the ‘problem’ issue or employee, and be more quick-thinking and spontaneous, even in difficult situations.
With the outcomes desired and time allotted, we chose to focus on 3 skills from our menu of over 100 Curiosity Cultivators. Each skill was presented and practiced, then followed with a debrief
about the value of the skill as applied to real-life situations, and further exploration through discussion, role plays and feedback.
We also explored the distinction between connection and conflict, as well as how to improve their awareness, listening focus, and empathy.
The executive team was enabled to see beyond invisible, yet unproductive, behavior to become more effective and aware of their impact on others. During the seminar, several Sr. VPs reported resolving seemingly unresolvable long-term issues and conflicts, and the majority of participants
reported increasing results throughout the follow-up coaching.
